Guys,

I've just got hold of a 320i ...i know should of held out but its my first project in ages and it only cost 400 squid.

There is a genuine kit on her and stripping the interior and everything else out makes me believe this was a factory fit. I'm sure I could be wrong here.

I'm sure this wouldn't have been an option on the 320, they never did a sport or anything.

Your thoughts gentlemen.

So yes i believe it was an option

Cheers gents, I need to try and get some history as well so I'll probably have a word at the dealer. So their records will go that far back? Awesome.

The M tech body kits were an option on All E30's (except M3's) and could be factory fitted or dealer fitted when new.

Go to your local BMW dealer, give them the last seven digits of the chassis number and ask for a spec sheet. It will detail all factory options fitted to the car and where its was sold originally.

as has been said, it was an optional extra. they did 4 door / touring mtech 2 kits but never made a 4door / touring 'sport' model.

the 'sport' tag itself was basically just a pre-selected set of options for certain markets.
cheers,

My first e30.

Well found out the kit was not a factory fit but none the less looks good.
Also found out about its service history...... ummm lets see serviced in 1990 and then in 1995!

It must have been semi well looked after though engine wise and she's had the body looked after.

All that said its rotted through the fuse box, drivers side wheel arch into the footwell and o/s rear arch!? I'm going to get it checked out see whether its worth going any further with it.
