DIY coilovers / height adjustable suspension

Just wondering what people have done for this. Would be a fast road / trackday setup so looking for height adjustability on the front and rear to go with my B8 dampers.

What spring rates do people run for this sort of thing? The springs on the car are Apex -30s and are 165lb Fr / 295lb Rr. Guess something a little more uprated would be good, maybe in the 250lb front region, although I might be limited by rear options -

Are baloon springs with adjusatble seats available, to avoid any clearance issues or top mount reliability issues on the rear? What sort of rates are available? I don't have the budget to go for a complete rear setup with solid top mounts etc. so this will be the next best thing.

Where's best to get the front collars and top seats from? I've seen Rally Design mentioned.

I also see that RD sell Gaz inserts for the E30, is anyone running these? I don't really need 2 way adjustable shocks but having a little adjustment over the B8s might be a nice touch. That said, I've not found the B8s wanting really, just the car feeling a little wobbly on the road springs.

I've a set of the Gaz inserts, but the cars not on the road atm. Seems good quality, and the Gaz stuff i've had before was good quality

Were the 2" sleeves a direct fit and did you then open out the hole in the top cap, to fit the strut? Certainyl quite a cheap kit and provides the option of tuning the fronts a bit. Be good to know options on the rear, using stock spring placement.

Edit:- Ground Control in the states do a DIY kit using alloy adjusters http://www.ground-control-store.com/pro ... 121/CA=241

Must be some rear only kits out there...

Yeah the tubes just slid over after grinding off all the welds. You shouldnt gave to open out the collars, I did weld the nuts on to make future removal easier.
