e30 diff to compact

can someone who knows tell me how easy is it to swap an e30 diff to an e36 compact? Thanks in advance.

I take it you want to put a large case E30 diff in?
If so the proper way is to use E30 325i driveshafts but doing this you will need to space out the ABS sensors as they will hit the ABS rings.
You can get away with keeping the compact drive shafts but you will need to use the compact diff output flanges in the new diff, problem with this is the flanges wont pop right in, maybe sticking out about 10mm (me and Kos are running like this with no issue's )
Other than that its a straight swap
iirc there was a problem with early compacts having a lower floor pan above the diff but nothing a 2 1/2 lb lump hammer wont sort.
