Hi mate yeah I remember you. Picked you up at Shawhead if I remember correctly.
Yip still got the Sport Evo. Idid try to sell it at the tale end of last year start of this but just got time wasters, so I'm keeping it. It's alot easier than trying to sell it.
What you driving these days. I see you have moved

yeah gary i have moved about 5 times since then lol wish i had stayed in my wee flat instead of trying to better myself but you live and learn.
picking up another e39 528i in the next few weeks so i can get mobile again as my e30 is in a bit of mess under a tarp as i dont have the time to sort it so im going to assemble all the parts i need now so when i restore it and put it back on the road it wont need anything doing to it and it will go like pooh of a stick.
i had seen an ad ages ago for the sport evo big money but even bigger effort went into the restoration and it was as mint as you could get. you would regret selling it if you ever wanted another as you wouldnt find one in the condition yours is in.

yeah the e39 is a good motor i had another 528i a while back it was a good un had the engine replaced just before i bought it wish i hadnt sold it but needed the cash at the time. the new one is a manual though so should be more exciting than the last auto one although the autobox in them is really good.
current e30 is a facelift 2 door m50 thats going to be stroked with m52b28 crank rods and pistons high lift cams 6 branch and maybe an itb setup. i have most of the engine bits already. its been sitting around for the past couple of years as i havent got time to sort it but it will have a permanent home soon as it needs totaly stripped down to a bare shell and any rust sorted as whats the point in doing all this work if the shell is not up to scratch.
plan is
body - complete strip down all rust cut out and replaced - re seal underside and arches. - prep and paint in fresh vulcan grey - fit mtech 2 kit with no spoiler and nice dishy rims.
interior - new carpets needed - mint sport interior with black headlining retrim the nardi steering wheel upgrade the sound system.
engine - m50b25 running m52b28 bottom end internals - prob custom 6 branch and scorpian system - cams - itb's - swap golf servo for clio one - head work.
the car already has alot of bits on it like spax suspension its all been re bushed arb's ect so it wont take as long to put together as you would think i just need somewhere to leave it that i dont need to move it every 2 minutes or it would be done by now.
theres other stuff like upgrading the braking system ect but you get the overall picture of whats going to happen so when its on the road it will have a fresh new powerplant and look nice and shiny as it roars down the roads. im not putting in back on the road untill i have done everything to it which i reckon with work and money ect it will be done by next year earlier if time and funds allow.

Jesus, sounds expensive. I take it you are going to do a lot of the work yourself.
The carpet will be difficult to find. I believe they are NLA.
Good luck with it. Get yourself along to some of the meets.
I'm arranging a Glencoe run on 3rd April. Check out Bavarian board for details.

it will defo cost alot but it helps that i have already got alot of the bits and i will be doing all the work myself exept the spray job as one of my painter mates will do that for me. its handy that i used to work in a bodyshop as theres plenty of pal power to draw on when you need it.
the carpet dosent need to be brand new just in good nick as the one in the car has a few nicks and holes nothing major but it bothers me so it has to go. i might dye the carpet black anyway.
the glencoe run sounds good so fingers crossed i get the e39 in time and i will be there definetly might even have time to put the m50 manny on it too
