Hello all,

I was told for E30 325i the CO2 reading is some where 1.2 to 1.3

But I checked mine and surprised to find, it was at 0.30 so I adujusted the AFM and the max I can get is 0.40

Whats wrong with my AFM? why cant I increase it to 1.20 level ?

By the way, I am using an AFM that belongs to 320i engine. Could this be the reason.

My car is running fine, but I find it could do better in accelaration. this could be due to engine running lean.

I just installed a BBTB, waaow fantastic results winkeye

any input guys ?

thank you

well my car was completely standard when i had a crypton tune last summer and the guy got the CO2 down to .7 and spent time doing it to get the reading down from 4.5 ( was in need of TLC in those days as just aquired) .
and she flies like a 325i should.
not sure what a 320i does but unless the part number for 320i is the same as your standard 325i for your car then there is a difference. what is for the really clever people out there not me

I have the same problem - running lean because the AFM won't adjust properly, just got a recon one so hopefully will resolve this.

Not sure about the 320i AFM but I'd reckon you could be restricting the airflow. Either way you're probably gonna have to find another AFM (better with a 325 AFM this time) and swap it out.

Or go for a MAF conversion (expensive).

Or go for Megasquirt (not sure how expensive but maybe a bit of work req'd).
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
'89 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 - track, hillclimb & sprint car (yeeha!)
'08 Buell XB12Ss - American engineering at it's 'best'... good fun though

thank you guys for the reply !

I will find a recon AFM soon then.

Anyone done a MAF conversion here ? Is it lot of work need to be done?

TQ

There are a few, there are other threads about this (started one myself when I joined). it is a lot of work, you have to get your ECU re-mapped / chipped too. Bexleys in London supposidly are experts on the conversion, they quoted me Ԛ£800 all in (them supplying everything and doing the work) - awfully pricey though 8O , a used/recon AFM should set you back Ԛ£50-60 (though make sure it's fully tested so you don't end up in the same position again, it's a really common problem).
