M20B25....running issues, still

As publicised in previous threads, I am having some running issues after an engine swap. The car would not stay running unless held at part throttle when cold, the car would idle when warm. Warm or cold, the car will not rev, it seems to be hitting a soft cut at between 1500-2000rpm as if the ecu is doing this on purpose. If you floor the throttle, the engine will gun between 1000 and this uper limit. This morning I unplugged the TPS while routing about and found the car will start and idle nicely from cold, but will still not rev as detailed above. I am not sure what this tells me if anyhting. The TPS was taken from the other engine which ran fine untill it lost compression. I would like to hear your opinions before I pull all apart again, thanks.
