paint code location ?????

stupid question realy
is there any other place i could find out my paint code other than on the strut top or is there a site i could goto to find out the proper colour it shoud be
been down to my local paint shop where the put a digital reader over it and it couldnt give a reading then they went out with colour cards and the closest they could get was fiat

tbh looks the part when polished up lol
i dont know if its standard or not as its a south african import
so far its a pain in the rear to try nget paint for lol

That's not an original E30 colour, if it was you'd have a paint code sticker on the passenger side strut tower.

managed to track down the first keeper and spoke to him on the phone he bought it for £23,000 in 1989 in south africa

found out it should have full black leather interior
and it was .............................
DIAMANTSCHWARZ-MET
so in between 1993 - 2010 its been sprayed blue

That's really impressive detective work mate

Doesn't really help you find out the paint code though does it.... Is there nothing in the paprework that came with it? I suppose you could always get in contact with the other previous owners.

charle30........yeah true just seems to be a long process though lol
first owner sold it to a guy in a place called wick ( near the top of scotland ) in 1993 but cant remember his name
last keeper bought it from some dude in shetland and cant find the old v5 to get his address off it for me
so right now just banging my head off a brick wall i love the colour of it so dont want to sand it all down and respray a different colour
i aint seen 1 this colour and theres loads of black ones
do you know of anywhere down south i could send a bit to see if they could analise it
