Look inside the front and rear wheel arches for corrosion, it doesnt take much of a hole to create such a huge amount of water, especially if youve been driving around on wet roads. Take the arch liners out to make sure.
If your coolant level hasnt dropped you can rule out heater matrix.
Your sunroof shouldnt leak this much water without you getting dripped on.

your rear footwell will be a leak from the boot, you have either
a)a dodgy seal
b)a loose boot catch
c)rust on the ns light cluster
d)no inner outer arch
e)a leaky light cluster seal
f)leaky sunroof channels
the front I aint a clue about the dodgy smell will be the smell of damp

I have puddles forming in the front passenger footwell and if there is enough it flows to the rear footwell.
The water is coming in from a small hole underneath the vent where the wiper motor is situated. Seems there is a rubber seal/silicon that has perished and allows water in , which runs down behind the glovebox and down the inner arch.
Pull up the carpet in that corner, you may will need to remove the front kick plate where the speaker is and the bonnet release catch to get good access.
Then get somone to pour a cup of water into the vent area, you will probably then see the water running down.
I have simply stuck a load of silicon sealant into the offending area, although I have not got it completely sorted yet, currently have the carpet out. I will give it another filling with silicon sealant and check it again before putting the carpet back in. I would recommend carpet removal in all honesty as otherwise it will never dry out properly and will just assist the floor in rotting away.
I do have some pics somewhere on my pc at home showing the area in question, pm me if you need any more details, but PM's seem a bit dodgy at the moment.
