as if I haven't got enough scrap on at the minute work started today on this turd ! 8O

this car Belongs to a good friend of mine and came to me in November for new shocks/brakes and a quick once over so it would be ready for the summer .... I had a feeling this Hartge converted RHD car may have rust issues after spending the last 20 years in Scotland

sadly I was right ! as with many M3's the rot had got in :(

the owner will keep this car for life, he has no intentions of ever selling so the decision was to make it "as new" :?

I decided I have enough on, so I called up Beardymatt and a plan was formulated over the last few months for both of us to do this build,
the Aim is to get it finished by June,

here it is on the Left...
Image

Image

on the top, it is a very pretty car and looks stunning when clean .. sadly underneath is a different story

I leave him alone for 2 minutes...

Image

front end off, there's no turning back now ! 8O

Image

the first rust hole !

Image

nicely repaired jacking pad !

after a busy morning this once proud chariot now looks like this....

Donk out tommorow :D

again, we had another great day at this, an M3 takes up a lot of room when it's in Boxes, 8O

we made the decision not to dip this shell as a fair amount of steel will be replaced.. the £2,000 bill for dipping seems way OTT, and can be used elsewhere on this build,

Poor Matt has his work cut out for himself on this one, there's quite a lot of bodywork to do.. thank god the roof/hoop is in very good order,

I have to order the panels tomorrow.. the bill will be very sad...

Front wings, going to use EVO wings
complete Front panel
Chassis leg tops
inner and outer sills
Both Rear Quarter panels, no point chopping bits out ect,
Inner arches (both halves both sides)
complete rear panel
battery tray (boot not engine bay)
and I had better get the other side,

has anyone ever bought the fuel pump bracket ? just wondered if that was available ?

I will update the pics when i can find the camera... :?
