I put HIDs on my e36 and they look stunning so I am thinking of doing an HID install on my 1987 325i.
Has anyone else on here has done it?
I would want to get the projectors from the facelift headlights so not to dazzle oncoming drivers etc.
Any advice / tips?

Easy job mate but obviously better if you swap for facelift lights. Did it on mine and my wife who never noticed my scorpion exhaust for 4 months noticed the hid's the first time she was in the car

Did you go for 6000k?
P.S - Thanks for the carpet! Not even looked at it yet as I keep putting it off!

Ooops about the carpet - wrong 'Robbo' sorry!
E36 install was pretty easy tbh. Just need to drill a hole in the removable plastic cover to run the ballast cable through. Probably the same as the e30?
4300k is too white. I know that is what is fitted on new cars etc but I have 6000k on my e36 and would even consider 8000k if I bother on the e30.

12,000k is show use only, you'll get pulled if you use them on the road. If you want a blue tint go for the 6000k any higher and the light output starts going down defeating the point of fitting the HID's in the first place.
When buying try and find the 55w HID's as they knock the life out of 35w.
Bewarned they are changing the rules regarding MOT's soon and this will affect HID's in cars.

Yeah same as the e30 then. Did it in my mates garage and he had a hole cutter that was the perfect size that came with a reverse parking sensor kit he bought! The bit that took my the most time (after removing and refittin 5 or 6times, swearing and shouting a lot) was remembering that the headlights won't come on until theignition key is in the 2 position
