well today i started to change clutch in my g plate 325i after the release bearing faild.... i orderd an LUK clutch it came an when ive come to fit it it wont due to the friction plate been diffrent :( my question is. is this clutch for 325 an i just have a strange flywheel on as i gave the reg to the place and the rest of the kit fits spot on (sorry about explanation)

no matter what way round i have the friction plate it wont sit flush an catchs the fly wheel bolts

Two different sites came back as 325i with aircon?!? but definately E30 325i. Do aircon E30's have a different flywheel?? I wouldn't have thought so.

Very strange, does the pressure plate all line up with your flywheel?

it all lines up fine but no matter what way you have the friction plate thing it just catchs on the fly wheel bolts. the splines are taperd at one side like the orignal one to make gettin the gearbox on easyer even with that side on the outside its still hits the bolts

no matter how i fit it the pressure plate fingers will hit the friction plate

There does seem to be a considerable difference between the two friction plates, is it possibly an error with the supplier?
'88 325i M20, could've done with a sunroof.

ETK shows a different driven plate for aircon cars, which is quite a bit heavier than the 'normal' one. No alternatives shown for the flywheel or cover plate though.
