Hi guys, i've finally got the car back together (nearly!), i'm trying to get it started and guess what, it wont!!
The symptoms that seem strange are:
-Engine will turn over very infrequently, most of the time i just get a click from the solenoid when i turn the key.
-Engine only turns over for a few seconds and then dies.
-Brake lights are stuck on when ignition is on.
-Electric windows and central locking wont work.
-Battery light on dash does not always come on with ignition and sometimes goes out when cranking and comes back on of its own accord.
-Service lights also have a mind of their own when ignition is turned on.
-Handbrake light is on regardless of whether the handbrake is actually up. When the handbrake is pulled up, all the dash lights get brighter!!!!
The setup i have is M50b25 nv from an e34 so it has a battery in the back conversion, i think the problem is probably with how i have attached the battery wiring etc.
Any help would be much appreciated

There are 3 relays in a row and on the end there is a block with a single red wire (quite thick), have you conected this to the battery pos terminal?? This is power to the ecu ect and without it the car will crank but not fire!!
I forgot this when I did mine and it wouldn't go! As soon as I connected it the old girl fired up

The only thing i can see there is a ring connector that has two thick ish red wires going to it. it comes out of the boot on the end of the loom cover on the drivers side by the relays. i have had it earthed, is this the one you are talking about?

Yes mate, that goes to battery +. Without it the ecu, fuel pump and injectors ect have no life!
Undo the wire from the block (throw away) and connect the wire to battery

Just done this and no difference, bit weird as it sparked when i touched against the terminal even with the ignition off!
i must still have other issues as the engine wont turn over at all now and the dash lights are still dodgy, thanks for the help anyway tho.

p.s. does the fuel pump need a speed signal on these engines or should it come on with the ignition?

Ok the car now starts. i had earthed the wire that actually contains the two ecu feeds, doh!
However, i astill have the following electrical problems:
