Bloody sure, if I had of been offered it for 300 quid I would have took it and started doing evening class's on body work at the local college.

I am not joking, if this car gets saved its going to be one mean looking car! :D

My bad, I hadn't considered selling of ID's (sure that is frowned upon  )

1/4 panels aren't excessive from BMW new.. Spoiler is worth fook all. Bootlid, valid, sure not worth masses though. Hoop, I wasn't sure if it was ok..? Again valid.

As with most car related things, they aren't worth the sum of their parts..

I added up all the parts that came on the car, plus what I got with it (at reasonable prices I may add). Comes out to £2,700.

I'm not going to say what I paid for the car, that's between me and the the guy I bought it off, lets just say he gave me a very good deal :D

Eh? So you paid £2700 in total? Or you are adding the value of parts you bought seperately to what you got with the shell?

He would have had to.. :)

In all seriousness, I look forward to seeing it saved, as I've said before.. As long as you are happy with what you paid etc, then all is well. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it after all..

I think what he's saying Dan is that by his calculations, the scrap he bought and the trinkets that came with it would probably sell for £2700 at sensible prices and he paid much much less than that for it.

So what the plan then? Reshell or rebuild? Does your Hartge RHD conversion still have LHD wipers! 8O

What morsels will you be treating the car to?

Rebuild. The only things that won't be replaced will be the floor pan and bulk head. New boot floor, rear panel, rear quarters rear chassis, front chassis.

I will also be replacing the roof with a used item. I must be

Knew those pics were familiar, just dug that same mag out of the garage. Bit worse for wear but I have been dragging it around for 20 years. Hartge always seemed to be in Fast Lane back then. It says that the entire cost of the conversion including engine work, wheels, suspension and switch to rhd was £16,372 (on top of the cost of buying an M3 in the first place). Serious wedge back then when a brand new 325i only cost £18k!

Good luck with the project

Good luck with your build nick. il defo be keeping a very close eye on this one its got the potential to easily be one of the best e30 m3's in the UK. It looks amazing in that magazine and when its back to its former glory it'l be mind blowing in the flesh!

Hope my funds for your superb seats come in usefull. It'l be a pleasure to know that i have contributed in a small way to the resurrection of this amazing car. winkeye

Sorry for the lack of progress guys, but I've been busy working all summer.

I put the order in on Friday. The last stock in the UK & Germany!

2x brand new rear quarters
2x brand new inner wheel arches.

The best part of a grand later at my local BMW dealership and we're getting closer to starting the rebuild.

Keep you all posted in the coming weeks :D
