your e30's job

My 325i Sport was purchased initially to be my everyday car used for the journey to work, general pottering about (an E46 now fills that role) and going for a blat now and then.
The inner peado in me started to take over about a year after owning it and it has slowly progressed into a car only used in dry weather weekend blasts and for shows. I can see myself heading towards a concours level with it in the future TBH.
This has taken some of the enjoyment out of it as i am now to worried to leave the car anywhere i don't feel comfortable with.
I have had other E30's since purchasing my Sport nearly 5 years ago and i think at some point this year it will be time for another E30 for a bit of fun and to not take so seriously.

My sport is for dry use only, although it does get used for holiday's, so far it's been to Northumberland, Normany in France and later this year to Le Mans. The daily 120 mile commute I leave to my mark 4 Golf, whilst the wife runs about in my E60 525

I was thinking along the lines of some chromie action again.
This because to no longer have the Corseshed to set fire to etc? lolGreen wrote:Daily driver to work, to mates, to pub and later this year to france
It's my weekend hobby spending most my days off underneath or inside it tinkering
Total rolling project but try to keep it looking roadworthy and respectable still
I would love another e30 to mill about in but it prob wouldn't get a look in seen as I've spent so much time, effort and money 24valving my current car! Its a bit like women tbh, I don't like sharring ect lol. My girlfriend is really understanding though I have to be honest, I have my relationship with her but I have a seperate love for my car
, and lots of it
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better

For you people near leighton buzzard if you're up for thinking about a meet:

But yes, back on topic! The strange thing is how many people run E30s as daily drivers... I do the same and it's thirsty and not really the ideal A-B car, but it makes that daily commute a little bit more special and really that's all that counts! I'd rather pay the extra fuel etc. than to lose that special part of my day.

i bought my car so every fecker in the country can over take me, slow as heck, lol, and i wana keep it standard apart from the engine, and brakes and suspension and wheels and exhaust, but everything else standard and keep it for a very long time and to pass it down to my little fella.
maybe worth a few quid by then.
Green touring down baker street, grey 3 door down shenley hill road and there's a fella i know in leighton with a black 3 door 325i, a guy with a tech 1 cab on south street and a red cab that both only appear in the summerIlkorin wrote:What!? Mine is for nothing but pleasure and nostalgia. I use my 325 cabbie whenever I get the chance (as long as it is dry). Even though my wife has just bought a gorgeous merc sl55 amg, I still struggle to decide which car to take for a spin. Mad eh!?!
The e30 is just so full of character, and when I get out of it and look back at it, I get a real sense of pride, especially as I turned it from a tatty, average cabbie into a gleaming head turner with no help from anybody else at all.

^ amen to the above!!!
Exactly how I see it my friend
, its all about the "character" and the way my e30 makes me feel when I drive it. That can't be beaten imo. And even if I was forced by petrol prices or anything else into a daily driver, my e30 aint going nowhere!
