But Car magazine in the UK claims the car will fall within BMW's new i-Project umbrella, a new sub-brand for the German marque that focuses on front-wheel-drive small cars employing the company's efficient dynamics fuel-saving technology. Engines would likely to be smaller 1.6-litre fours and possibly a three-cylinder, with the car aimed at cheaper roadsters including Mazda's MX-5.

Omfg, total wrongness! Fwd, 1.6 and 3 pot engines??!! :(
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better winkeye :D

As long as they sound good im not bothered (fiat 500 2 cylinder twin air sounds good) .. People who stick chains on the front of their BMW are to be blamed.

i expect if its wearing a bmw badge then it will be rwd, if its fwd then expect it to come from a mini dealership as a sub brand or a bit of brand engineering. probably based on a mini platform.

i bet this has to do with average co2 out put across the range....

(just speculating, i dont know anything really)
