Hi, i know the recommended ratio for this box is 3.25 or thereabouts.

I have a 3.64 lsd at the moment and was going to leave it for now, as its mainly a track car being a little bit short isnt a problem. I do however drive it to the track and back so i dont want something horribly short!

Is the 3.64 unbearable with a 328i box? Does anyone know the revs/mph for this combination?

Thanks

Hi Shaun,

I have a 262 dogleg box (which is also a 1:1 5th) with a 3.64 diff on my track car.. I have woprked out it is 132mph at 7000rpm in 5th, which equates to about 4200 rpm at a genuine 80mph.

I find it OK driving to and from the track - some might find 4k-ish rpm at 80mph unbearable, but... for pretty much all tracks in the UK a 3.64 might actually be a touch long...!

I just limit myself to 70 - 75mph on motorways..

Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Mike

Thats brilliant thanks :D I do 70mph or slightly less on the motorway anyways so i can live with that. Saves me getting another diff.
