not sure what in as I've two cars and both are in bits.
@ jon I'll pm you about the lump, but its not pretty, think of the big ends akin to a female version of a wizards sleeve.
@ Imys ANOTHER RICE MOBILE?
Sorry I thought you were serious for a moment.

ABS problems, pain in the arse. Having a right mare, whoever had tried to bodge the system before has done an astounding job
The story so far.......
Car went in for MOT failed due slight issues with emissions which was easily sorted, and 'oh' the ABS light is not functioning correctly.
Went to pick car up as the garage had no time to work on the car straight away so started to look at it myself, started off in the obvious place by removing the dash to see if it was a simple problem of a blown bulb, to find no bulb, it had been cut off completely, replaced that to see what I was playing with then out with the relay which the diode and fuse was knackered.
Still no luck so decided to take it too my local BMW specialists, an electricity leak on the way led to arriving at the garage after closing time on a tow truck, these ”˜specialists’ did nothing and could not work out what the problems were after testing the ABS system even after I told them there would be a problem with one of the speed sensors, 5 days I later I gave up with these no hopers and collected my car from them.
Now the car is in another garage where they have done a proper diagnostic on it and soon found out there was a problem with the speed sensor on the front nearside, the problem being the ABS hub had been replaced by a non ABS hub. That fitted the ABS is still not working, so now a new ABS control unit should be arriving today and at the moment I sit here was fingers crossed hoping for the green light, if not next step is new ABS pump.
Not a good couple of weeks of E30 ownership but hopefully we are getting somewhere now!! not much else can be done apart from ripping the whole system out and starting again

Tried changing the ABS ECU?
Never heard anything good about the "Specialist" in Loughborough, guy in Coalville on Park Road knows these inside out though so should be of help if your still stuck.

Kedge I would not take it too the "Specialists" in Loughborough again even if they wanted to pay me to fix it!
Been to see they guy in Coalville but he is fully booked for about a month, taken it to a guy in Leicester who seems pretty good and know what he is doing. New ABS ECU arrived today so should find out the verdict soon.

Yea he is always fully booked in Coalville, just goes to show what his reputation is like

It's a guy on Loughborough rd, he seems nice and friendly and seems genuinely interested and to know what he is doing. Will save my final verdict until I get the car back though. No further word today and the clock is still ticking.........

honestly, I would rather have the ABS issues (after fresh MOT, of course) rather than the much needed make-over mine wants. entire front end looks like I drove behind a gravel truck for miles

or this thing!

Ha ha, I suppose your right at least you would have something pretty to show for your ££££. Me I will get a light that comes on for a few seconds then goes off, not much to show for your hard earned Wonga
