Depends what software your existing ECU has apparently. Not quite as straightforward as other E30 engines.

I have a Mark D chip for sale, a guy from Canada makes them. Amazing chip for m42's. Every one runs his stuff in Canada and now starting to become popular in the states. My chip is new and for a 0 261 200 175 DME #'d ECU's.bilal-ali wrote:what chip is good 1 and where can i can 1 from?

It's a chip that changes furl maps and timing. Made and tested by a guy (mark D) from Canada... Great chip one of if not the best chips for m42's

not suitable for euro M42 really folks, uses a closed loop version of the code.
remove the ECU lid and protective sleeve off the chip, the number you need is the one on the silver label on the OEM chip itself, they are all 0261 200 175 ECU regardless.
I do the 2 most common, the 3rd is not really worth doing as its emmission control spec.
