I have just removed my after market steering wheel (wood would you believe!) and tried to replace with a tech 1 wheel. There seems to be an issue with the spacer thing that goes on before the wheel itself, if I put it on, the wheel doesn't seem to go on far enough leaving me with no horn, but if I leave it out the wheel has nothing to butt up against.
My question is, is there anybody out there that has a steering wheel currently removed and able to measure the thickness of said spacer. I think if I persist with it any more i'm going to cause damage!

Thanks guys.

Thanks fella. Just measured mine and it seems to be 10mm. Do they come in different sizes or have I got problems I wonder?

Touringtash's looks 10mm to me.

Sorry to ask, but have you turned the steering lock off? :o:

Yeh lol i fell for that earlier on.
I think i've sussed it now, the old wheel has worn the springy hexagonal rod that pushes onto the brass ring. I have just inserted the minutest of spacers under the plastic ring that screws to the boss and carries the brass ring. seems to be working now
:D
