Been gathring the bits to do a 5 stud swap and have a few questions.

Im using Evo front struts and wishbones.
Do I use the Evo eccentric topmounts or standard E30 ones?
Do I use E30 or E36 front flexi pipes?
My car has ABS,what do I do about the sensors?

Im using Ti rear arms.
I use E30 handbrake cable right?

Also could I get away with keeping the Evo springs or would it sit like a bus?
Ive got a set of E90 tophats which would bring it down a few extra mm.

I have a feeling that you will not be able to use the ABS as the E36 and E30 are not interchangeable :?:

You could contact FMH on here, he has done a 5 stud conversion using E36 parts and hopefully be able to answer your q's :)

Do not listen to anything FMH says! He used heated and bent arms from the E30 centre!

Speak to Jaistanly as he is very clued up on this subject.

From what i can remember for the front its,

E36 Evo wishbones
E36 Evo hubs
E36 Shocks
E30 springs
E30 top mounts
E30 M3 offest control arm bushes

Double check this with Jai though.

ABS sensor plugs are different and im not sure weather you can cut the plug of and solder on E30 ones. This depends on what resistance the sensors are and what voltage the the different sensors use.

Pm on its way.

This list will work fine!! Tried and tested. The e30 top mounts will need a bit taking out of the collar where the shock bolts up, or you need to get a 21mm socket machined down. you can add to that list and use offset top mounts to get the camber back into spec, But camber adjustable top mounts are ideal. You can use the evo spring if you want but not the 3.0l ones. I'm not sure on the ABS as my car doesn't have it. E30 flexy hoses work fine as do the hand brake cables.

Thanks for the info guys.
Just the ABS issue to get around now which Pacer/BSS are working on so ill put this on hold untill its confirmed its compatable.
If it turns out it isnt then ill stick with 4 stud and sell the 5 stud stuff on.

NO i did not use the arms from e30 centre, i sold them without knowing they were heated and bent. Both my cabs have the set up you've mentioned above.

I read on here about splicing the e36 sensor wiring on to the e30 abs wiring... believe you were meant to earth one e36 wire and link up the remaining two from the 36 to the two 30 wires... do some searchs of the threads on here the info is on here... i'll be doing this over winter... cannot wait!
