I've noticed a lot of people talking about only using a genuine sump gasket on M50 conversions,
Apart from the obvious price difference, what else is there that makes everyone recommend genuine over aftermarket ??

If the 'other' gasket is a steel type then I dont see what the problem is, the early fibre gasket was changed to a steel/rubber edged gasket, ive never known an early gasket not to leak.
The best advise is to change the gasket before you fit the engine

I have a Steel one from ECP by the way
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
