5 SPEED BOX ON AN M20?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIT A 5 SPEED AUTO BOX FROM A 5 SERIES ONTO A M20 2.5 AUTO E30?AND A 525E SUB 2000RPM CRUISING DIFF?

E28 525e diff fits an E30 with a change over of the rear cover and output flanges with the E30 items. I have one on my M50 engined E30.
I have an E39 5 series 525 engine from a 2000 car, which was fitted with an auto box. I have successfully fitted an E36 manual box to this, so an E30 box would fit as well, although rotated by a few degrees.
Extrapolating this backwards, then it should be possible to fit the E39 auto box to a M20 engine, but whether it will fit in the transmission tunnel I don't know. The ellectronics involved will be a total nightmare as well.
