Assuming your battery is under the bonnet, there's a rubber grommet behind the battery (used for the headlight height adjustment pipes - which not always fitted - but you can use the grommet anyway).

Remove the steering column cover (the bit your knees are against when you drive).

Run the wire from the battery positive terminal (but don't connect it to the battery until you've run it to the amp, in case you touch it against the bodywork and cause a short) and leave get it in position.

Pull the wire through the grommet and run it down the centre or side of the car under the trim.

I like running it down the centre of the car. Remove the handbrake cover and surround, the gear stick and centre console - or just tuck it underneath the edge.

REmove the back seats - pull the base up hard and it unclips. Two 10mm bolts hold the upright part of the seat at the bottom corners. Yank the backrest upwards to remove it from its upper mountings.

Run the cable through one of the grommets into the boot ( you will see other wires already doing this).

You also need to run the 'remote switching wire' to the amp from the headunit, the phono leads.

Make a good earth connection on the bodywork for the negative amp connection by rubbing the paint off around a screw hole and mount the negative lead to that.

Clear as mud?

did you have to cut the metal underneath the parcel shelf? i was thinking about maybe doing this and abit behind the seats just to let in abit more bass, i had a hatchback before my e30 and used the same subs and amp and it used to sound mental in there but i find in this car it is nowhere near as bassy!
