After a long time spent on other peoples swaps and building drift cars, I finaly have the time and the motivation to start on my on dream E30.
I had a nice red moredoor 325i, that I converted for drift use only, and after a while got fed up with the fact, that Im only driving my E30 on track. So I made my self a nice M50 two door E30, with some light tuning on the engine (droped head for higher compresion, full exhaust works and a really decent mapping), witch was kind of good for a while, then my wife and I decided to have a baby, so in the modern way of thinking I bought a nice Opel Omega Caravan so that the childrenz and the misses have enough room.
I kind of gave up drifting for financial causes, and beeing a true E30 fan, that kind of botherd me, there was always a little voice in my head that was telling me : make a car, make a car!!! , so I sat down with my self, rolled meself a nice joint, and started planing the damn car.
And all that time there was a nice touring shell in my garage, that I actualy didnt know what I need it for. It was salvaged from an Italian scrapyard minutes from beeing destroyed (it was already hooked to this crane that caries cars into the crusher..), and after my friend lost the will to renew it, I steped up and bought the shit..
So after that joint kicked in and the imagination stared working, the original engine planed was a nice M60 V8, that I bought a long time ago. So the misses was informed about my future project, and I made a promisse, that its gonna be the last car that I build for myself... (hmm....).
In the mean time, a friend of mine was selling a nice S38 B36 engine, that was broken apart beacuse the DME had some chip in it, and the rev limiter was deleted, so the obvious happend- he reved the engine too high, and the valve retainers broke and bent the valves.
After some quick thinking and calculating, I gave up the V8 idea and sold it, and my S38 was home.
Ok, lets cut the sentimental history story, heres the plan and some pics, couse I know that posting projects without pics is lame...

-S38B36 tuned engine (ported and polished head, 3 angle valve seats, port matching on ITBs, higher compression, engine completly renewed,blueprinted and balanced.....)
-Konigsport custom spec coilovers
-Big brake kit
-Complete E30 M3 look
-75% lock diff 4,27
-All the electrics, even the sunroof
-Auto AC IHKA from E34 (custom heater casing...)
-Leather and alcantara retrim on the sport seats and sealing
-M system1 wheels, so going 5x120
-Alpine white 2 color with DTM M stripes (sponsored, so can not pick color..)

The base car:


Allthough it looks like shit, its rust free, and has no previous accident damadge, and thats enough for me...
The beastly M engine:

I assembeled the engine with no internals for test fiting into the body and making of engine mounts.

I decided (beacuse of the huge weight of the S38) to move the engine into the cabin as much ass possible, so I cut up the oil pan and the firewall:

...not far enough, so I pulled the beast out one more time and cut up the fire wall much more

So know, it fits perfectly (like the S14):

And then I had to move from my rented garage, to my own garage. The problem is, that the rented garage was huge, my garage is just big enough for this kind of work. And the place needed some serious winter prep, no heating and no isolation inside, so for the past few months Ive been in the construction buisness insted of fabrication and mechanics...
But the place is allmost ready, just need to get 380V electricity for my welder, and the work will continiue!
