Hi Gents, the ignition coil is dying on the 2.7. It's getting harder and harder to start and the spark is a piddly thin yellow one instead of a big fat blue one

What I want to know is this- Do i just go to eurocarprats and buy a genuine bosch replacement or do I splash out and buy one of those fancy dancy high performance self compensating jobs ?

I've been to the demon tweeks website and found this one http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... JAC380672T any good ?.

I'm struggling to find more retailers on the web :(

Ignition components are one of the only things I've never had dealings with, although being a sparkie I know how they work

Cheers,

Iain T

Update, been out and measured the coil resistance with all connections disconnected and got some weird results.

Primary 0.001 Ohms
Secondary 5.69 Ohms

Thought it was supposed to be in the K Ohms for the secondary ? and the primary looks like a dead short.

How the hell is my engine running at all :?

Cheers,

With a hope and a prayer by the looks of it, i think standard coils etc are adequite if you're not running supercharged V8's like they do in funny cars :D

Good plugs, good leads and the rest and you should be okay.
