Hi Guys,

Halfway from driving back last night my car decided it doesn't need any more petrol and came to a halt.
Had to call the recovery truck to have it towed as it was way past mid-night and after a couple of checks if petrol is coming in to the engine (and it was), he recommeneded it needs looking by a professional.

There is enough petrol in the car and the engine cranks and that's
about it.

I've had the car for a few months and last month had an Inspection II service done on it, and although I wanted it to be taken back by them to have a look at it (and a few too many quid out of the pocket for the service) they said the carburetor problem (not sure if that's what is) was not covered in the service. Also noted in the last few weeks that my car has been kangooroing, although I thought that was due to the cold weather and I don't drive it long enough for the engine to get warmed up. Was that a sign that I ignored?

Has anyone had any similar experience with their car (its a 1.6, 1991)?

Thanks

Thanks Will, the rev counter fell back slowly. I did check the engine bay for splits/holes and didn't see any then, will check again tomorrow and will test the relay aswell.

Would you be able to tell me why the car was kangarooing? Sorry, new to this and trying to learn.

Thanks again.

Hi Will,

Tested the above and there doesn't seem to be any feed coming in to the fuel pump fuse.
Bypassed it and the pump doesn't kick in still. Taking it into a garage now.

Thanks for your help.
