look more like 19s or 20s looking at the amount chopped out of the arches. m3s will swallow 18s no problem.

look how deep the skirts have had to be made to make it look low because the wheels are so big!
cheers,

The reason that big wheels don't look right on the E30 is because she has small arches. If modern BMWs had small arches, they'd look good with small wheels.

Small wheels are the coolest, regardless of the reduced performance winkeye

Thats a V10 conversion. Its probably not running E30 M3 suspension. Looks very race spec to me.

White cars: vomit
massive rims: vomit
An incomplete white car with massive rims that will only get worse: more vomit than the toilets at a Bulemics Convention.

That one is running both front and rear subframes, suspension, brakes in fact everything from the M3 that the V10 came out of and yes it's full race spec

Usually I wouldn't put anything bigger than 16's on an E30 (maybe 17's on an M3) but I think this beast has an exception.... :D

Personally I think they look awful- almost comical!!
M3's in road going trim pull off 17" well and as track-spec 18"
But 19" and 20" look a bit daft

The pic in the op doesn't even look like an E30. One of the reasons I love these cars is there classic looks.

Why would anyone want to make it look like a modern sh1t box? :(

You might as well turn a skip upside down, paint it with Dulux and lean some dustbin lids against it. Bleurgh.

I know it's all a matter of taste, but it seems that the people who like that abortion of a car don't have any taste at all.

Looks wrong. :?

17's the max to go with E30's and it only looks right on certain cars (Colour wise) with a certain drop. 15's & 16's look the coolest.

Although I really have got a thing for bottletops at the moment too. :D

:puke:

There are many appreciative comments spelt wrong in that thread. I don't see this as a coincidence :teehee:

I appreciate that a racecar or any car with ridiculous power would need vastly larger wheels. But for aesthetics? No thank you, my eyes are bleeding.

I think 16s are about perfecet on an E30. I have fitted 17s and they are a bit too big. when i can afford a new pair I will go down to 16s.

Why has no one mentioned the handling? Very surprising.

Good point. for 17 inch rims the handling is good, but the ride is a bit like rodeo with haemmorhoids. any biger rims must be like Nobby's Piles from the old Vis comics.
Viz, now those were the days. Can you still buy viz

on a road car, it will be bad unless the suspension has been custom valved/corner weighted etc for it

I like the originonaly posted car purely because it reminds me of a DTM car.

If that was a road car I would hate it, but it is a race car built for a purpose and I think that is a point a lot of people are missing.
