Hi All,

Just looking for a bit of advice, I recently put on some 18" alloys on my E90 Saloon 2005 and was wondering if it needs lowering at all?

I have put on
Front 18x8.5 with 225/40/ZR18s
Rear 18x9.5 with 255/35/ZR18s

The ride feel a bit higher than when it was on the standard 16" Rims but not too sure, thinking its just me knowing theres a change.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Your ride height won't be noticably different then - the change in sizes will have made less difference than going from worn tyres to new ones. :thumb:

Those are the correct size tyres for an E9x with 18" wheels.

Seconded. I run 18'' Type 167's on my e90 SE however its lowered on factory Sport Suspesion which looks spot on.

Factory ES or SE suspension would need lowering to look right IMO.

Thanks for the feed back all.

I understand these are straight swaps from th e16" to the 18" with correct tyres

Just wanted to ask:

If I was to use springs to lower the car how many mm would you guys recomend with lowering of the front and back?

I think the car will look nicer whilst sitting a bit lower on the rims, but my main concern is not to compromise ride quality, and rubbing of wheels and springs etc.

I live in east london which has a lot of speed humps.

Thanks

a lot of car's look higher on larger wheels, it's purely a visual thing though as long as the tyre sizes are chosen properly.

however, most cars that come with bigger wheels as standard will also come with lower sports suspension which makes them look better.
cheers,
