Thanks for all the kind welcomes to the forum guys,

I got her home this evening, she is in fine shape...
complete with all the bit and bobs tool kit etc allways a good sign.

I just found the removable torch in the glove box - I nice little suprise.

Really pleased with the way the car handles being a tourer I thought it would be a bit more bouncy round the bends but not too bad at all considering the car is completly standard.

The 2.5 straight 6 is a wonderful improvement over my last BMW a 316i! but thats to be expected I suppose.

Only two little niggles - the window washer light on the check computer will not go out even though the bottle is full and a squeek from the from left, I think this may be brake related (but is only there at <10 mph) strange...

O and the alloys are bubbling slightly.

Other than that not a spot of rust on the whole car, amazing for an F reg.

What a sound :)

I'll stop waffleing now but so excited I had to tell some people!

Doug

Oh yeah, pictures will be on there way soon as I get my digicam back..

325 tourings got the M-tec suspension as standard, thats assuming it's still on the original parts after all this time ?

Can't wait for the pics ;-)

glad you are so pleased - I was with my 16 year-old 325; you can get brainwashed that newer is better/important.

Does the torch still work? The rechargable batteries tend to give up, but the torch complete is one of the few things you can replace at the BMW dealers for a reasonable price - about 12 GBP I think.

Good luck with the car - I'm sure someone on the Zone will come along and tell you what to do about the check panel.

in my 320 this light wouldnt go out either.
I would suggest you check the sensor which is on the side of the filler bottle as the contacts inside could be oxidized (spelling???) or a cable could be snapped. if you dont want to get another one you can always twist the two wires together if the cables are snapped or insert a small length of cable from one hole to the other hole on the sensor once you have disconnected it.

If you need pics let me know, 10 second job

you were bragging when you said the torch worked, to say there is a first aid kit of any description is just rubbing it in

well done fella, sounds like you've got yourself a keeper there, hope she does you proud.

Lookin forward to the pics
