Asking on behalf of my mate who's got a 528i Sport (V/W reg).

Took the cap off to put some water in, filled it up to the right level and noticed the water colour to be a yellowy/goldish colour? Always been clean before.

The garage he takes it to, the guy say's that his headgasket is on it way out?

Thought i'd ask on here, is the garage guy correct?

TIA
:)

If its been clear before did it not have any coolant/anti freeze in it?

Perhaps just the water picking up the block rust, perhaps a flush and antifreeze top up is required.

This sounds likely to me.

It's always been clear or a slight reddish colour before (probably the anti-freeze). Was just that when the garage guy told my mate the headgasket was on it's way out, I thought i'd ask on here first for a second opinion.

Thanks for the advice chaps, Zone come good again :thumb:

I'll flush out the existing stuff and top it up again 8)
