I would say it's worth £3K* tops - maybe a tiny bit more to a Lazer Blue / Indigo Leather deviant.

I would value it at what other tidy 318iS / good shell'ed E30s go for plus the fact that it is mechanically sound with a great spec. Not based on future classic status etc etc.

These low-milers are a little more complicated but even allowing for that uniqueness - 10K?

I was reading on the BBC site that the used car market has been going down so I would thought this would reflect on the e30 market.

Thing is , is the low milage that much of a bonus these days? With cars this old you would buy on the condition more than anything else. Saying that I would pay £5k for that cab tops as I think it is more of a realistic price.

Its not uncommon for cars to be registered long after production stops.

I have seen E, F and even G reg Ford Capri's when production ended in '87 on the D for example.

as the model is so long out of production i expect they would want to give them either age related plates of q plates.

if you even could get a reg on them, i think they would now have to go through an iva, which i dont think an e30 will pass in un molested trim.

Whereas the e30 and it's brethren still feel okay(ish) when the bushes are hanging. I still maintain, the best driving old school ford was the Mk1 and 2 Granada. They screwed it up when they adopted the Mcphearson front end (and those poxy TCA's again) with the scorpio.

A freshly bushed 2.8i on billys was a fun steer and there is no denying that.

Agree with on the Granada, the double wishbone front end was a superior design to the mk3's mcpherson strut with TCA and anti roll bar location ala Sierra.

Quite right, I was the proud owner of a 1996 M reg chromie,the current plates on my Touring were from this car and when they re registered it they read the import dates on the chromie's doc's and gave M reg plates

Yes it's nice, yes it's rare but in the context of other 10K cars no effin' way.

There is no way this is worth 10K. It's clearly a chancer who is riding the E30 wave at the mo, knows he has something a bit nice and is taking the pish.

Anyone can 'price cars to sell', and it's a mugs game. You ever heard the old analogy about the antique that wouldn't sell until the price was high enough? That's what successful antique dealers and classic car dealers do. They price something high enough for the owners of 165'000 miles shitbox 325i Convertibles with dings in every panel, Spamex 90mm lowering springs and GRP bodykits to say 'fuckinell, I only paid 654 quid for mine'. That's because their cars are patched up rubbish that will never be worth a cup of cold p1ss, and this is clearly quite exceptional and virtually irreplaceable

What many fail to realise is that if you decided you wanted an absolutely mint, never painted/welded/fuckedaboutwith 325i Convertible and you are a person of means, then £10'500 is not a lot of money. Go and look at what £10'500 will buy you in terms of a new car - some sad shitbox Corsa or Fiesta.

I'd want strong money for this car as well. And to anyone who says 'I can buy one for half the price' - well fuck.off then, and the best of luck to you..

Ratch's 318iS is worth £5-6000 to the right buyer. Most 318iS's are tatty old shitbags and I doubt there are many (any?) as comprehensively sorted as this one.
