hi,gonna start a thread about my 325i cabby project as im on here enough so i may aswell start getting some piccis up! heres some pics of what it looked like when i bought it last year...

when i got it the 325i lump wouldnt start but i was assured it was a very good engine. ive now got it running and found that the problem was the crank sensor, ive put all new belts on the motor and given the engine a full service but whilst running it up to temp the heater wasnt pushing out hot air so after draining it all and removing the matrix it turns out to be the heater valve, ive managed to source one from BMW-MAD so when this arrives (along with a good crank sensor) i should have a sweet sounding 6 pot! i have a tech 1 kit to fit and ive also sourced a carpet from B7 thanks! but this wont be going in until the paint is sorted, although i cant decide on wether to stick with the same colour...i'll put some up to date pics on tomoro...

Heater valves only usually stick shut if the flow through them is the wrong way around.
Check that the hose from the back of the cylinder head goes to the lower stub pipe on the bulkhead.
The pipes seem to fit most 'naturally' if they are the wrong way around, which is why they often get refitted wrongly.

the hoses were the right way round brian, which is strange,i wonder if its because it sat so long why it got stuck?

Valve should have been open while it was sat, as it needs power to close it.
