i want an m3

Going to have 5 grand spare in a couple of weeks and really want an m3.

Am i just wasting my time with this amount of cash.

Obviously i dont want a total shed .

I don't think that'll get you a total shed mate, but it will get you a list of jobs to do and about the same again to spend over a year or 2 if you want to give it some stick and it to look/ drive the dogs, just my unqualified opinion. Plus the joys of LHD motoring in the UK, because lets face it, it is an inconvenience especially for a daily driver

Think thats pretty much spot on to be honest. However. LHD isnt that hard to use daily. I do, and its not difficult once you've got 2-3 weeks under your belt.

Right, well my car was Ԛ£5k and I have spent about a further Ԛ£10k on (mostly preventative) maintenance, servicing and repairs. That's over about 30k and about two and a half years though.

If I sold mine (i.e. gun to the head time!) then I'd probably only get Ԛ£9k for it even if the ideal customer who could appreciate all the work and love that has been put into it came along.

I guess my conclusion is that if someone has looked after a decent M3 properly they won't get back all the money they spent on it so you will get a relative bargain for probably Ԛ£7-8k but around the Ԛ£4k-Ԛ£5k mark they tend to be erring towards needing possibly expensive work. But then the bargains do crop up from time to time I guess... an inconclusive conclusion.

Well I bought a sub Ԛ£5K M3 earlier this year...
Granted, I looked at a few that were sheds at that price, but this one was good, not perfect, but pretty solid, low mileage and well cared for without too many extars to go wrong!

I've been pretty happy with it, so far, and have spent <Ԛ£500 on general preventative maintenence..

It can be done for <Ԛ£5K

What's so expensive about them? I can do all my own work and I don't see the engine being particularly complicated. In fact, it's pretty simple as far as I see, in concept. Are parts expensive?

Got to say peeps, when wanting a cheaper car, head up North, our prices are so much more reasonable. Mind you our baths are full of coal.... LOL.

I have seen a belter for sale in a dealership in Langley Moor, Durham and a decent example for sale in Bowburn, Durham (also on ebay).

i know thats true for mundane cars
but arent more specialised cars likely to have a "uk wide" type price

Are parts expensive? damm right they are see that 3 on the back of the car that means prices are x3 but you can find cheaper parts but for Ԛ£5000 you should be able to find one but it will need bits doing to it and thats a fact. if you can get 6500 i know of one thats in very good condition and has had alot of money spend on it and is so clean i almost bought it but could not afford to run 2 m3s at the mo
