engine oil

hi,can anyone tell me whats the best engine oil to use in my s50b32 engine and how much to put in as it is in an e30 with different sump.thanks

how do you normally check your oil level?

You'll be using an M50 E34 sump, so it will need about 7 litres

so it will read correct level on dipstick?is castrol 10/60 the best to use as this is what someone told me.

Castrol is good..

I used to use Sikolene Pro S 10-50

Agip Racing 10w/60 is supposed to quiet up the engine more compared to the Castrol one.
I'm swaping to Agip for this season.

Does the brand of oil affect how the vanos opperates,ie is any particular brand quieter or better for vanos reliability ?
