Price of bilstien B6's?
Moderator: martauto
Hi all just had a nose at euro car parts website to try and price up some shocks for my 325 touring and they don't list them online. has anyone bought any from here or does anyone know how much they are new? i've got to get some in the next few weeks and i'm wondering wether they're more expensive/worth the extra over motor factor ones as i don't want to lower it and i like the standard soft ride.
cheers for any help

B6's are a shortened damper and only worth using on 40mm drop +
I think they are about £120 each, maybe even a bit more.
Just get some B4's, they'll suit a stock car lovely

ah sorry B4's was what i meant
are they the same sort of price? so that would make it around £480 for a set?? i paid less than that for my motorsport bilstein setup on my rally318is!

Naah, B4's are a much more reasonable price, probably about £50 a corner at the front. Eurocarparts are the importers for Bilstein in the UK, so in theory they should be good on price.
thank goodness for that! i wonder if they come in under the 20% off voucher they have on at the moment? i'll give them a bell tomorrow thanks for the info all
Cheers

euros sell a kit with B4's and venturi 40mm springs. Can't think of the name (streetline?) or the price but i'm sure it was under £300 for the kit. Its not that bad either, lovely ride comfort is what i liked

i'll find out tomorrow, i definitely wouldn't want to lower my car though i'm sure it still rides fine as they are good cars suppleness wise but i like it as standard height due to speed bumps by my house and i like the look of it up high (unusual i know), plus i take it everywhere over some rough roads so need the clearance.

Try www.shox.com
Very competitive prices even including freight. Not sure what the USD v Pound exchange is though.
I got 4x B6s for my 2002 for less than AUS$600 delivered (about 300 gbp)

hi all a quick update, my shocks arrived today looking all nice and shiny
opened the big brown box they came in and the bilstein boxes were inside however two of the boxes had been badly opened and cellotaped back together. what an amazing coincidence that these two boxes were for the front shocks and low and behold the two collar nuts weren't there. hmm. phoned them up expecting a load of hassle etc and described the problem to several different people several different times, and then described the nut (after being told perhaps it would be better if i emailed a photo of it or gave them the part number- of something i don't have?). anyway they said they'd phone back later which i'm always sceptical of as companies always seem to forget, but to be fair i got a phone call about an hour later apologising and saying they'd pop them in the post right away and i'll get them shortly. rather happy with that, and fair play happy with the service and the initial price for them too. let's just hope they live up to expectations when they're on the car. i'll let you know when i fit them.

An update for everyone, i received a package of ecp after all but it was the wrong part, they sent two M12 nuts? after phoning them back they then sent another set out for me which seemed ok but were actually also the wrong collar nut off another shock absorber and wouldn't fit the bilstein.
when i phoned them again they said that they couldn't supply the collar nut as it is not available at all and they couldn't get one. i explained that i needed this nut etc but they were insistent that my only option was to send them back and that i'd have to have a cheaper set and a partial refund. i was frustrated at this and in the end asked for a discount off the price as i'd been sent an incomplete kit and decided to modify the set they sent to fit by turning out the ineer diameter on my lathe. they gave me another 10% off (i haven't received it yet mind) so i got on with fitting them.
i'm happy with the ride they give it's a little firmer than it was but it's better over speed bumps and handles a noticeable ammount better. overall it's a good improvement and i would buy them again given the opportunity although the problems with the collar nuts somewhat marred the transaction, although the service was very good and the people i spoke to were tidy.
Just to recap Bilsteins are great but beware anyone buying B4's off eurocar parts!
Cheers

I've heard that so many times about ECP with the shocks, pleased you managed to sort the collars yourself and got a further discount (if you get it) I always try and avoid ecp as they don't seem to know their arse from their elbow most of the time!!
Your lucky you have the skills and equipment to sort the collars, average joe blogs would have been a bit scuppered...
Bilstein do make brilliant shocks and I'm not surprised your happy with the way they ride
