I've just had the shock of my life. I needed to get rid of 2 tyres and change my spare. The choice was pretty poor and I want a full set of Falkens as I think they are a bloody awsome tyre. now I am paying £70 a corner for my Falkens but P6000's were comming in at £110 a corner!

When I got my first 2 Falkens they were only £60 so with the added VAT I think it's not bad they only cost a tenner more. Now I don't have staggered wheels as sytner only did 7J's all round on the C2 2.5's which makes life easier and a heck of a lot cheaper because I remember it was a pain to get the 8J tyres.

For my staggered set -

I got the Falkens on my M3 and I rate them for a mid range tyre.

I've got these on my original Alpinas -

Goodyear GSD 1's, nice tyre.

My originals I bought back in 1997 from the dealer, I will never part with them.

I do have another set of Alpinas though, only selling as a complete package though

It was a toss up between the Toyo Proxies or the Falken 452's, I prefer the Falkens for the tread pattern :o:

As you know Si mine is never going to see any track action or even has that much power when you think about it.

Good to see so many Falken fans.

They are 912's I've gone for.

+1 for staying away from P6000's and any AVON tyre for that matter!

I use continental sportcontact 2's on the E30 and cant rate them highly enough!

Along with sportcontact 3's, they are used as the OEM tyre on a lot of performance cars including E46 M3's and some Porches.

Another tyre a rate very highly (but are fooking expensive!) are Michelin Pilot sports.

I bought my E46 new in 2004 and I replaced the fronts before winter just gone, it's done 38k and the tyres have served me well.

I'm anal for the same tyre tread and as I put new rears on in 2009 and I had to match them with the fronts.

My mate with the same car had Bridgestones on and he's gone through 2 sets in the same time as my one set.

Huge positive from me.

I have ran continental tyres before and always rated them but I've never had them on a RWD car

Pilot sports on the E46 are superb. The confidence they give you is amazing, and they just grip grip grip :)

We ran them on the family 330ci a few years before my dad went all gay and got his oldmans merc. I remember they were a very good grippy tyre but I was too young to aprieate things proply :(

This and this imo.

P6000s are as hard as a hard thing and even post nuclear war will still have survived while the car will be reduced to dust.

I was a tad shocked they were so expensive. £110 a corner for P6000's is crazy to me.

Orginally mine had them on the rears when I first got the car. It took me less than 2 days before I spun the pina. I am replacing Yokohamas as good as they are they keep fecking loosing the rim and going down. having to pump my tyres up every week was becomming beyond a joke.

The closest the pina will get to anything track related is when I take it down the strip at the pod this year , and bar that my milage is so low I actually replace the tyre on age rather than milage.
