was the e30 m3 brought out in 1986? seen an m3 for sale but it was registered in 86?

Yes , Feb '86 was I believe the the start of regular production.

Be sure to do a dealer spec check, many of these cars are not quite what they seem !

thanks mate also would you say m3's loose value if they have been re-sprayed?

That depends on the quality of the respray, why it was done, if it was a rust issue was it properly repaired. For example x-works "minor rust repair" thread on here is an example of something being done properly and certainly won't have a detrimental effect on the resale price. His will be a better than new car and has got to be in the 30k bracket. You just need to ask questions, look closely, everywhere. Take your time, don't buy a dog.

BMW E30 M3 production dates started from 1986.

Always a story behind a resprayed car, ask to see photos of the condition of the car prior to being resprayed.
it could be alot of things, as mentioned above (henryM3) the usual suspect is rust. but if its done properly, if anything its worth more.
maybe take someone along with u who has abit more knowledge of the E30 M3 to view & check over.

Yes if its not in the colour it came from the factory in.
