my 325 is sporting a new set of coil overs having just fitted my XYZ set up, and so far quite happy with the quality and fitment, also impressed at the drivablilty on road, especially with dampers set to fully soft - no motorway bouncing!!

It is the road spec springs, and the car is predominately going to be for road use with a bit of track here and there.

Now i am playing with a set up so what are opinions on camber? i have no castor adjust but its equal at 9 degree 0min on each side.

i am running now minus 1 degree 30 minutes camber which basically matches the rears after they have been lowered and thus camber is naturally intriduced (standard bushes at the moment),

and the alignment is stock of o degree 8 minutes toe out.

i reckon it is lowered on the medium setting of about 40mm, photo below on 16 inch wheels.

So what are opinions on a good set up for mixed road and track use, and what are the effects of adding camber and toe please?

cheers all!

On mine (lowered about the same as your car):

Looking at -2.5 degrees of camber all round +/- .1 degree

9.10 degree of caster left front
9.12 degree of caster front right

And from memory my toe settings are:

1mm toe out on the front, give or take....

1mm of toe in at the rear, give or take....

Tyre wear is fine (though the car does very little mileage so it's not something I'd notice ~ or even care about to be honest) and the car performs beautifully on track on the odd occasion I get out there. Of course, springs, dampers, etc., have to be added into the equation but I'm happy with the settings.

EDIT: perhaps what I would change if I could would be to add another half degree of negative camber to the front and whack half a degree off the rear...but I can't, so I'll live with it. :)

Best bet is to get some adjustable top mounts & you can just mark them and push them over when you get to track in about 2 mins flat.

Obviously depends on tyres etc but you want as little as you can get on the rear, and with road tyres probably between 2-3 degrees on the front (Camber).

The mounts will obviously cost a few pennies but running 3 degrees on the road will kill your tyres and running too little on track will also kill your tyres....

Toe between 0 & 1 mm out

Caster, not a big deal to be honest, maybe a few more degrees neg but I wouldnt worry.
