Hi All,
my car battery died the other day due to lack of use as i was snowed in for a week or so. Today i removed the battery and put it on charge to see if it was just drained from lack of use or if it would discharge itself. Seems the battery is ok its holding just over 12volts so i put it in and before i could attept to start the car the alarm went off. The Cobra keyfob i have didn't reset the alarm at all and it kept going off. The fob didnt work the central locking either. The alarm and central locking were working fine before so is there some way of resetting the alarm with a certain sequence?
I have no paperwork for the alarm and only one fob, there is a button inside the car with an LED next to it and i presume this is to do with the alarm system. All i can read off of the fob is " Cobra Model 7777, CE 0678 !
Any help would be very much appreciated as i need the car for work on tuesday.

Do you know where the alarm siren is? on some of the early cobra alarms, they had an over ride key, you would turn this off when removing the battery and tuen it back on once the battery was put back on.

Also, check that all wires were put back on the battery properly, if the alarm was not installed properly, they may have taken the power and earth from the batt.

Easy enough to tell you how to bypass the alarm, if we knew what circuits its been connected to.
When everything was working properly, would the engine crank over with the alarm still on?

hold the two grey buttons down together until the red led stops flashing - then you press the left hand larger grey button twice and it is reprogrammed
