Hi,
My water temperature guage starts to 'bounce' after a period of operation (usually at least 20 minutes) but always returns to normal (about midway on the guage) after a few bounces.
I was wondering if this has been seen before and if there is an easy fix (i.e. the sender and not the guage!)
Thanks,
Darren.

I think the batteries in the SI board going can cause problems with other gauges. My fuel gauge used to flick about badly, the SI batteries were shot.
I replaced the board as I had a spare and all was sorted

Fairly easy.
Start by removing the panel above the drivers knees, and then reach up behind to unscrew two round "nuts" that hold a little trim panel in place along the bottom of the cluster. These are designed to be removed by fingers only.
Next there are eight self tappers to remove, of varying lengths.
Ease the top of the cluster out ,so that it faces downwards on top of the column.
Release the wiring connectors by lifting up the black locking bar in the middle.
Ease the cluster to the left past the steering wheel.

See under "inspection light won't go off" for a better description .
Just to ley you know that I finally managed to get the cluster out over the weekend (it didn't take long, I just hadn't had the time!).
And many thanks to Tylerma, it was indeed a loose nut on the back of the guage!
The cheapest fix I have ever done!
Thanks again.
Darren.
