Although i've been keeping an eye on the place it's been some time since I last posted.

The E30 is all tucked up for the winter, partly because the diff threw it's hat in but mostly because of the salt on the roads.

Back in November though whilst carrying out my usual inspection of ebay I came across a 70's American barge just down the road from my house. I couldn't beleive it, as some may know i'm muscle car mad and have been wanting one for as long as i can remember.

Anyway long story short, i went to see it, loved it, put a bid in and won, so here she is (will get better photos as the restoration progresses) :

When i first got it home, it had no exhaust silencers at all, it was literally just a pipe and the choke wasnt working on the carb, as you can imagine going to work in it wasn't really plausible.

As much as i love the 5.2 V8 soundtrack, driving it did give me a headache, so i've had a dual system chucked on to tame it.

As for the choke i've opted to bin the old 2 barrel carburettor and fit this little lot winkeye

Oh I like that. So what colour are you changing it to? Actually, I must admit, I'm feeling a little envious of the double garage with two E30s in it!

This red is quite striking but I like black too (seeing as you already have a red car)

Cheers Toby. Things are all a bit up in the air at the moment as i'm trying to organise a unit to keep the turds in. Currently everything is residing at my dad's house and the Dodge has taken to colouring in his driveaway :o:

The design cab is my dads and sadly hasn't moved for over a year. I have been too busy working on mine to have any spare cash/time but at the moment he seems happy for it to be sitting there :(

As for colour of the Dart i'm struggling, i'm thinking being a moredoor diplomat type model it needs to be pretty understated with a heavily cammed v8 lurking under the bonent but I think one solid colour will be a bit much on such a big car:

I may have to rock some stripes on there :D

A loud colour like yellow will make it look even bigger.

It's the size of an ocean liner - so the same colour as the sea would look nice.

 True mate, i definately wasn't thinking yellow but just thought the picture showed off the stripes well.

Blue is actually winning at the moment with maybe some white or black stripes. Hopefully next week my wheels will arrive which should improve things no end.

I've gone for 15x7 front and 15x8 rear with Cooper Radial tyres on, white lettering of course was a must.

Got to love a bit of Mopar.

Get yourself over to York Dragway at Easter, loads of American Superstock cars running there.

Love the Polara in this, listen to it

I know where you are coming from I'd just love to see it in a bit more of a reflective and striking paint scheme.

I like that it's a bit of under dog. It will never have got the attention 340 cubic inch coupes did (the demons, swingers etc) but i think it has bags of potential. The noise it makes alone is reason enough to save it :D

Plus for a car that's 40 years old this year i'm amazed as to just how solid it appears to be. Granted it isnt going to win any beauty prizes but compared to how the E30 was when i got that it is doing well.

Blue with a black or white roof I think would punctuate the proportions of the car nicely.

I know these are two doors but it's just the colours that I'm comparing.

Guys this information is really appreciated I can't thank you enough

This site taught me more about E30's than I ever could have found else where and now it comes up trumps on 40 year old yank chariots.

I will hopefully get it up to York before it comes off the road for the big strip down as it's MOT'd until July so if you are there come over and say hello. I will be the one in rags as the petrol to get me there cost everything i had, it makes the 325 look like a Prius :D

Thanks again.
