Right i got the engine into the bay today and ran out of light ive got yet another slight prob got the engine all bolted up but none of the plumbing done yet . the loom is connected and when i try to start it it just does a single click as if the starter is stuck or cant engage? none of the lights dim either so i dont think its the battery.

Also ive tryed turning the engine over at the front using a socket and it is very very stiff i almost cant turn it over does this sound right being its quite a large engine?? but does go just.

ive used m20 fly and starter ,323 release bearing and m20 spiggot bearing any ideas what this could be as im struggling for ideas. im going to start by taking starter out tomrrow and see if it spins out side the bellhousing? Also check to see if engine turns more freely im realy stumped by this one grr

have you removed the two bits off the sump? the m20 flywheel will foul these if not.

Just replied to your pm, both the items in the last two pics can be binned, you will need to blank off the small air intake stub on the underside of the manifold where that air hose in the last pic came from

bottom one is charcoal canister, chuck it.

one above that is the doofer for the exhaust flap i think. bin it.

the top plug is for your injectors isn't it? won't go far without that plugged in. :D i seem to remember i thought i had a plug missing when i did mine but i was actually just being thick, have a look again mate.

You need to make sure everything is connected the right way round before tyring to start it really, FWIW I remove any plugs that are not needed and label the plugs so you know whats what
