thanks for all the comments,

some of the tyres were baldish, more noticeably the rear ones, the close up of the tyre was not to show tread depth but the snapped alloy that it sits on, the only reason i took it home was because i live in rural scotland and it took me a few days to find a scrapyard that would take it, i would have left it in the tree till then but the rozzers told me to move it ASAP.

and yes i do drive more carefully A LOT MORE!! I just got my hands on a 325i been taking it easy on the rural roads, i love my new car and dont want to damage it in the slightest never mind do a crash landing into a tree

Unfortunately i didnt have time\tools\effort to get the exhaust off, i was stripping my most loved posession on my birthday
If i had know how rare the is's are i probably wouldnt have been such a 7WA7

Well, as your OK (and Scotish) i'll take the piss now.

Bald tyres give better grip on dry roads (slicks) so i guess you just can't drive
because in the pic's the grass is dry and no don't bother to re-post and come out with some jackanory about trying to avoid a lamb in the road.

well the thing is.....now dont laugh, the car had just went through the car wash at tescos and this was a few minutes later.... what an excuse
But i have to admit my driving was to blame aswell, i came across a slight corner which had a hump on the apex which shifted the whole back end of the car, mix that with me in the wrong gear and revving a little to high and the back wheels started to spin, spun me ar$e-afore-headthen we slipped of the banking sideways, hit the rocks at the bottom of the drop which promptly bounced us upside down into a tree.

Forgot to mention that some twocers nicked the face of me stereo while it was still upside down in the tree, dont suppose they can use it for anything as they are all coded anyway???

yeah well up here away in the stix us scottish folk have to drive for hours just to find a town

I dont think i would like to crash in town, just imagine all those insurance claims!!

At least when you come off a rural road you might take out the odd fence.....wall.....sheep......TREE.... but no insurance job needed!
