what is the best wax for around £10

as above am looking at getting some semi decent wax just dont know what to use my car is diamond-schwartz-metallic the colour is a little faded so what im wanting to do is try to restor the colour a little bit and have it gleaming any help would be greatful

here lieth a problem
you really need two types of product for best results
you need a cleanser which will remove oxidisation/contamination etc
then you need a product that will protect paint and enhance shine

may i ask how often you will be waxing/polishing car??
ie is it something you do reguarly or are you looking for something that will last longer

the reason i ask determines which type of polish/wax is best for you

Autoglym super resin polish IMHO

takes a bit of effort, but I think it gives a better finish than most of the others; you just CAN'T get any moisture mixed in it, so don't apply it in the late afternoon

so durability is not the greatest issue
bearing in mind your budget you have set

i would say meguiars cleaner paste wax
its about 9 quid

that will clean surface to a degree and give you a protective coat of wax

it wouldnt be my choice tho

id strectch the budget a little and imho you need as i hav e said two products

a better cleaner and a better wax

these are amazing products both german and give 1st class results and are so easy to use with no powder residue at all and really quick to use.

it is more than you budgeted i know im simply giving options . any product that claims to do more than one job ie clean and protect etc will never be effective as 2 separate products that do the jobs solely

both available here incl previously mentioned meguiars.
lots of meg stuff a little bit dearer than your budget that give quite good results and are easy to use but the p21s stuff is superb and is about half waydown the page

beauty is in the eye of the beholder and thus people might like finish from one product better than another

some say carn/wax gives a deeper wetter look but i dont always think that is the case

some say synthetic sealants can look alittle sterile again some do but some really do not

the p21s stuff i know from experience gives a really really good deep shine and is so quick

within your set budget this is where i would spend my money for sure

ultimately id choose different products for my car but in this case due to cost this is imho best

its not that i dont like it or rate it cuz i do and have used it for years on other cars i have or have had and still would just that ZAINO is giving me the best reasults for me and it is far more in depth/labour intensive and far more money initially
give p21s a try and you will be very happy

yes cloths are major important
the site i gave you previous do some very very good microfibre cloths
dont use anything else to put on or take off
they will not mark your paint.they do some sponge filled microfibre pads that are really good and are excellent for applying p21s
they allow you to get pressure right when applying and you only end up using the amount you need rather than wasting loads

the applicator that comes in the p21s wax is not to my taste as its a little course

id take one of these to remove product

as i say i have used both of these in past and quality is good

tho it all starts to ad up the cloths last for ages and you will just want more once you have used them

Slightly but c76jon, whats the most durable polish you know of? Current cars dark metallic green so it doesnt seem to look that different dirty or clean, just misses a slightly plasticky sheen when i havent polished for awhile!

I dont really like washing my cars that often and just want something to protect the paintwork when i do get around to a good polish and shine session! Thanks!
