Sure I remember someone on here saying you could buy BMW's own uprated (rubber) Motorsport rear subframe bushes from a dealer.. Anyone know any more info on this? Part No. etc?

or you use the standard ones and fill the void with wind screen mastic like they used to do in Grp N

The race classes with the most limited specs turn sometimes out to be the more expensive ones because people go to great length
in finding an advantage rather than proving raw driver speed/talent.

I have filled the voids with rubber anyway, but never saw it as a nice solution.. Could chuck a bit of mastic or tiger seal in there as well for fun

The more rigid the Stuff, the better.Jhonno wrote:I have filled the voids with rubber anyway, but never saw it as a nice solution.. Could chuck a bit of mastic or tiger seal in there as well for fun
But what's wrong with the usual Powerflex lilac bushes?
They make a harder black compound on request as well.

Group N :
-HA-Träger / Schräglenker / rear X-member / trailing arm
33 31 1 417 247 Gummilager HA-Träger / rubber bushing cross member
Im unsure if they are stiffer but this is a partnumber in a catalogue i have (i presume they mean the beam bushes and not the trailing arm bushes?). Unfortunately i can't speak or understand german enough to find them in the Group A catalgoue

The Grp N Engine mounts for the M3 are around 500-600 Euros!!!!

I turned some up using some delrin. Not driven the car as its a WIP but has made a very solid rear subframe.

Wow - those delrin bushes are something!
Have the purple powerflex monsters in mine and these have tightened up my rear end a treat! Oo-er missus!
Any reason for not going with these instead of the BMW parts? Not criticising, just interested!
BTW - HA-Träger means Rear Axle Carrier if translated literally - HA is 'Hinter Achse' (Rear axle) and Träger is the carrier - I would suspect the beam.
Cheers,
Mike

On this last car I decided to try the PVC void fillers instead of window seal and it tightened the rear even more.

I could do but to be honest, I'd like to run them on my car first and figure out if they're safe lol. Shouldn't be a problem as they're not too different from a poly bush, but i'm a little dubious wether they need an insert like the OEM ones. I think that the delrin is pretty durable, but ony driving the car for a period of time will tell!Bristol_Jer wrote:Fancy making some more? Group buy maybe?MarkT wrote:

Gone for the delrin ones for the same reason that you went for the powerflex ones, however, these will be a lot stiffer. Delrin has very similar properties to nylon but doesent expand when machiened. Also they would have probably been cheaper too. Just the cost of the materials and a little bit of my time... Yes I'm tight lolMikey_Boy wrote:Wow - those delrin bushes are something!
