345mm CSL discs with AP 4 pot inside a 17" BBS RS.. Needs a small spacer behind the disc and one for the wheel. Until the struts are back on the car I am not sure how big though. Or probably work getting hold of an old tie rod thinking about it..

What I like about the CSL discs is the floating design and the weight.. for such a large disc they are very light! 8.5kgs iirc, compared to a 330mm disc I was looking at which was 10.4kg.

Now that is rather large!! Hope they don't fold the struts under the car when you brake from 150mph at the 'Ring!!

Just out of comparison, what would a standard front hub assembly weigh- I'm talking complete 4-stud with standard braking system- as opposed to the 5-stud upgrade with your new setup?? Just curious

Well if someone wants to weigh a complete (damper/spring/top mount) 51mm 4 stud strut with disc/caliper I will weigh mine to compare. It will be interesting for sure! The disc weighs much less than you'd think and the caliper is very light.. I am running aluminium control arms also. The RS' are a pretty light wheel believe it or not, coming in at 9.4kg, which is less than the M-Systems!

Yeah that's why I asked- thought it may not be much heavier (if even heavier at all!!). And if you've fitted alu control arms also you may have less unsprung mass and less rotational force? Should feel pretty nimble on the steering coupled with massive braking force
I'm sure someone will have an assembly they can weigh for comparison...

It looks like the disc is a bit too big for the caliper?

The caliper isn't seated properly over the disc and the angle of the pic doesn't help.. I will be checking that tonight.

The caliper was advertised for 330mm discs, with a bracket to go bigger supplied if needed, so I reckon they will be ok. Same as the same caliper is used for normal M3's (325 disc) and the CSL (345 disc)..

I think I could shave the steering knuckle slightly to make it clear, however the big issue will be the tie rod.. I will pick up an OEM one, and I have dims of rose jointed ones, and will see if that will help clear. Obviously I'd rather not run a spacer if I can avoid it..!
