ford have a habit of doing things like that, its one of the reasons i avoid working with or on any of the "special" fords.

even some of their more normal bits are stupid.
puma seat cover - only available as a whole seat - £800+ then vat on top. i told them to forget it.

i have a new shocker, enquired today about how much the white strip is with the bulbs in it for the 13 button OBC. Oldskool common obc prob! They're were choppy @ £21 not long ago, but £20 if you can't solder isn't frightening is it.

Try £60 plus VAT. Where the f**k do BMW get off?

Supply and demand or they see what all the zoners are saying is common faults and increasing the prices of these items.

TBH there is no way I would even consider a resto nowadays, the way they have blatantly jacked the prices up is nothing short of attempted robbery.....

With a a little hindsight i think i started my resto a little late, but i've sure saved a few quid compared to if i started now.

I'm still in shock. Dealer also only has 20% max they could give on it till their at their cost price from BMW.

It was under £20 a few years ago, I declined it :?

The fuel tanks are a joke...
Even the GSF tank at £175+ is overpriced as its inferior, especially where any engine over 2.5 litres needs fuel at a constant pressure

Did Dave serve you - was he not embarrassed?

Even a 10% wouldn't make much difference there.

Anyway, I spoke to him a few weeks ago as I was after replacing the heated mirror glass on my E34 - £47 each side + vat which I decided not to go for

He said 'good job you've not got an X5 as they're £290 + vat each' 8O
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

I go through plenty of these but usually buy 5 of each at a time. I still have stock but when I last bought some, say october last year I recall they were about £8 each. Obviously not anymore :( Shock me !

Are you sat down Pete - 51 71 1 935 841/842 - £43.73 each.

The big part, the screening was £53.03 which I thought was good tbh.

I get discount on them which brings it down a bit

I bought a bulb for my map light a little while ago, it was £7.05 I know that's not alot of money, but struck me as a fair wack for 1 tiny bulb.

BMW parts van had dropped me a pair of E21 gearbox mounts off today, I was happy I could get on with the job, until I looked at the invoice....

Image

Are they having a fcking laugh? £62 for two cylindrical rubber gearbox mounts
Last time I bought some they were £8 each which I thought was top whack!! :?

Needless to say the bag wont be getting opened...
Ive ordered some universal mounts to the E21 dimensions for £4 odd each

Why do they even price the parts like this? Are there 'really' people out there stupid enough to pay that for a SI board? Surely you would have one custom made for a couple of hundred quid!

Well at least they seem to be available again. For a good few years they have been NLA.
Even so £1100 is rather steep for a few chips and a couple of batteries.
