Just been looking into car Car insurance groups. There is 20 groups a car can be put into, 1 been the best and 20 been the worst therefore more expensive.

What is the Car insurance group for an e30 sport manual?

And does anyone know why?

This explains the classification for the OP.

@ Barx 99? Do you know any more information about this?

Expand it to 50 groups IIRC.

E30 is quite high.

I remember when insurance groups were from 1 - 9, changed to 20 in the early 90's

it makes sense, with the exception of e36's and fords, :teehee: cars don't have a finite lifespan which for the insurer is a bit of a pain I guess

I use parkers to check groups.

An auto sport is a group higher than a manual one weirdly.

i was talking at work about this last night.

they have just been expanded to 50 groups. this is to make it more accurate and because there are so many group 20 cars. if the car group has doubled it should stay the same price, apparently.

As above, most insurers are using a 50 group system but bare in mind that the groupings are only there as a guide and will vary from company to company.

Thanks
