You'd be better off with the DVLA records, you can pay them to carry out searches for you on specific car types.
Also, the DVLA records will be more accurate than BMW's.

BMW gave me information on BMW E46 M3 CS Coupes when i asked even down to the exact colours and exact leathers when I asked. Even put all the information together in a spreadsheet well i did that bit.
Back to BMW E30s. If you want a BMW E30 325i SPORT. TAKE THIS. DONT DRINK AND BAKE!!!!

Of course that figure may be wrong but the DVLA records a few years ago showed only a few over 200 on the road that is of course registered sports not any chromie with a kit. Rust has devastated these many have been broken. Indeed how many early 325 chromies are left its ages since I have seen a nice one. Shame.

Thinking about it BMW would proably provide the number built rather than those left on the road. DVLA should provide a better indication of the number left on the road.
Heck i seen more BMW E46 M3 CSLs than BMW E30 325i SPORT M-Technic Is.
Even more 997 Turbos, 996 Turbos, Bugatti Veyrons (seen three of them on the road), BMW E92 M3 Coupes. Have seen a handful of M-Technic IIs and BMW E30 M3s on the road excluding the BMWCC show.

So you bunch are saying the the 325i sport Mtec I and Mtec II are rare cars to find in good nick?pnd wrote:m3's are much more common and often in good nick too. they were mostly looked after from new but the more common cars weren't hence they are rare now
Yes. Both are absolute rust buckets and there are very few (i.e count on your fingers) left which are original and unwelded. They both rot like a bastard behind the bodykit and the Tech 11 is no better. I prefer the original by a mile. The Tech 11 looks slabby with the lower side mouldings and that horrible fat boots poiler which looks like a melted whale. The Tech 1 is much sharper and more crisp - I think it will end up as the more desirable model in years to come when there are only 20 left.lion_yo wrote:So you bunch are saying the the 325i sport Mtec I and Mtec II are rare cars to find in good nick?pnd wrote:m3's are much more common and often in good nick too. they were mostly looked after from new but the more common cars weren't hence they are rare now

I always liked the look of the Tech II but at the end of the day its personal preference.
Onto the question of an original car that has never been welded, the only one that I can think of is my 325i sport Tech II.

Your the second owner..............wow that is IMPRESSIVE.kieran325 wrote:Mines only had the rear valance section and the square thingies up front![]()
I've had it nearly 17yrs, all the MOT's/tax discs and fully stamped service book.
I knew the previous owner who had it 2 yrs.
I know mine is a good un
IMPRESSIVE FSH you have there. Do you still use BMW dealers or BMW specialists now?
You seen the BMW E30 325i Sports on the website.
I mean WLN.
Would love one of them but tbh to have one of them means not driving it in winter, not drifting in it, not doing a few track days in it, treating it like a museum piece, being super careful, half the fun is driving it, though to have an AMAZING SPORT like that is quite something.
In the M-Technic II I really like Brilliant Red or Diamond Black.
Have a M-Technic I myself. I used the prefer Tech II till i got a Tech I. Then i liked the Tech I. There are things about the Tech II I like, like the bumpers are nicer, it looks nice in the two colours i mentioned not sure about other colours, the more advanced Bosch Motronic engine management system, more standard equipment, more options for the model.

Nice one how many miles has it done?kieran325 wrote:I'm the 3rd owner.
Mainly BMW independent garages, gets serviced every year regardless of the mileage.
This year it's done less the 500miles
It's tech 2 by the way.
That is a sure keeper. Given its history do you drive it like a saint?
how do you know if there is any rust beneath the M-Technic bodykit? have you had the car stripped and rebuilt?
Either way sounds like a really nice car there. You want to keep hold of it till the end of time.

It has always been garaged since new in a heated garage mostly under covers, I am the second owner from new, it has a Full BMW Service History, might just take into BMW to get its Inspection II, doesn't have many road tax discs mostly sorn notification letters.pony wrote:how do you know that? you the first owner from new? how many miles on it? you got all the MOTS and road tax discs?lion_yo wrote:I always liked the look of the Tech II but at the end of the day its personal preference.

Add this one to the survivors although it's not in the UK.
and from the side [url

.
Genuinely not a spot of rust in sight, full underbody is black maybe an underseal treatment?
Approx' 62,000kM from new, always garaged and only used in summer, carefully wrapped up and prepped for winter storage from Oct' to Easter every year. It might be worth a few bob one of these days?????[/url]
