There's no such thing any more. Have you heard ont he news they're thinking of doing after school classes because the standard of education has dropped so far. You just have to watch how a youngster types, ie. text talk... barely legible dialect!
Yeah but No but Yeah But...........Am I bovvered? Do I look bovvered? Innit an' everyfing an' that innit??

People laugh at Little Britain's Vicki Pollard and Catherine Tate but it's so bloody true and sadly indicative of the state of education. Britain seems to be becoming an island of idle, dole scrounging, sportswear clad witless scum. Another 4 or 5 years of this I think, and I'm off somewhere else.

You still looking for a house Adam? I just bought another place - 3 bed Victorian semi, Ԛ£67'500. That's in Sutton - in Ashfield, M1 Junction 28. It's one of the few places left where you can buy a house for 3 times your salary that isn't a complete hovel. If you fancy relocating, give me a ring. Loads of places up there for Ԛ£60-70'000 and there seems to be plenty of work as well.

Ford stopped making real cars, when they put the drive at the front.
designed so girls could drive without the arse going out.

the made a mk3 escort, talk about dim. it should have been called anything but an escort due to it having none of its superior rear wheel driven predecessor.
a shopping trolley for shoppers i think!

wats all the slating for lads!

were not exactly against each other here, this is just some
idiot trying to cause shit with is little ford ka(ck) theory!

punctuation and spelling has nothin to do with it at all!

im only 19 and you tend to find that most younger
people tend to use their phone a lot so tx talk comes into it

as long as its not completely unreadable then i dont see the problem

it just seems like your trying to make it more awkward for the
people on here that realy just wanna know more about the car
they love!

so what if they use slight "tx" talk "ere" and there!

and so wat if their chavy and chav their beemer up!

fair enough its not everyones preference but they are still
modifying a car they love...the e30 as we all do!

so i think we should concentrate more on the problems that
people encounter on their e30's and give good advice then
nit pick at peoples punctuation..........

this isnt a grammar school ooops sorry "isn't"

c'mon lads leave it out :?

Not as much fun as my Black 1990 Sport Evolution was. Or my Orient blue 840Ci Sport. Or my Inca Orange CSL. Or my Alpina C1 2.3. When you've got something better than an old 323i with a bodykit Son, come back to me and we'll talk real cars!! :D

I thought the same thing but I couldn't decide if he was joking or serious so I let it go.

Actually I would much rather my 323i than an 840Ci or 750iL and I am sure my 323i would be quicker on a track than at least the 750iL. I'm also not worried about owning a CSL if you mean the old one, an M3 CSL would be nice though. An Alpina C1 2.3 is a 323i anyway. My 323i is probably mostly there as far as suspension, it's probably just a little down on power (but I have a shorter lsd ratio so acceleration mightn't be too different).

The only car I would like in that list is an E30 M3 Sport Evolution.

Yes but you're from Norfolk. The E30 is probably still a current model there, only with four pedals ;-)

I just objected to this guy calling me a twat, simply for defending a Ford Ka. I've never said it's anything great but simply put my view across that as cheap and cheerful transport it's perfectly okay. My point also was to say that I had one as well as some very nice cars - I'm not a snob. Christ, my everyday car is an E32 730i worth about 10 pence and a button.

Aston - if you would rather have some old 323i than an 840Ci, you need to get out more and at least give yourself a talking to. I find that most people who make such comments aren't actually in a position to buy (or run) an 840Ci anyway. "Yeah, course I'd rather have an Escort 1600 than a Ferrari F360"
An old E9 CSL is indeed a nice museum exhibit (and a lousy car) and an Alpina C1 2.3 is indeed a crappy old 323i with some nice bits.

As for the comment about "Ford never made a good car since the Mark 2 Escort". Well that's a load of bollocks. The Mark 2 Escort was a cheap and nasty piece of rubbish along with just about everything else Ford made in the seventies with the exception of the Mark 1 RS1600/RS2000/Mexico. When I was a nipper I had a 1200Ti Alfasud which would shit all over the Escort boys in the twisty bits. I think you'll find the Series 1 RS Turbo was a pretty serious car in it's day, along with the Sierra Cosworth. As an everyday car, the Escort 111 was vastly better than the dreadful Mark 2. I had a Mark 2 Mexico which was awful, followed by an RS1600i which was great (brakes apart)

Maybe so - he should come back and explain his position. If I'm in the wrong then I'll apologise! :D

But as for Redrobbie - when he can lay claim to owning something decent, then I'll listen to his infantile ranting. I guess he's quite amusing in a 'wind him up and watch him go' kind of way....especially a PEUGEOT 106 owner!! Have you got a collection of teddybears on the rear shelf sweetie??winkeye :gay:

I would rather have my 323i than the 840Ci. The 840Ci is big, heavy, not much quicker in a straight line (in a way that will matter to me anyway), and I am fairly sure it wouldn't handle as well my car. True I have not driven one or raced against one but I have raced against similar cars and I have driven cars that are reported to handle better and my 323i handles at least as well as them. That is what is important to me so that is why I would prefer my car. Sure the 840Ci has luxury stuff and would be comfortable on long journeys but that means very little to me. Also a 840Ci is not a Ferrari 360 and an Escort 1600 is not an E30 323i.

It is true that right now I am not in a position to buy one BUT I will be in the near future and I am currently looking at another car to buy in a price range that actually includes a secondhand 840Ci and the 840Ci is NOT on my list of cars and I doubt it ever will be. I would give up my 323i for a Ferrari 360 (or even a 355 if anyone is offering :D ) and probably an E36 M3 and a lot of other cars, just not an 840Ci.

So I stand by what I said I would rather my 323i than all the cars you mentioned and a lot of other cars. I don't think it is the best car in the world, it is a long way from that, but I do think it is a lot better than a many other cars. This is all in my opinion, I'm not trying to change anyone elses.

Finally if you really did mean what you said and you were not joking than you really are being an immature twat like JoeP said. We were talking about the E30 and Ka and you have to slag their car and list all the cars you have owned that (you think) will make you seem better than us and are unrelated to this topic? You don't even know what cars the original poster owns, just because he has a 323i doesn't mean it is his only car. I think you need to grow up a bit or learn to deal with your insecurities or something.

You are of course joking..........right? A 323i was an averagely fast(ish) car 23 years ago. A Golf GTi would have been just as fast.

0-100 in a 323i takes 24 seconds. An 840Ci does it in just over 17. It's called having 286 bhp and a shitload of torque. I doubt a 323i is electronically limited to 155 either! An 840Ci is the same length as an E34 5 Series. Hardly huge.

As for insecurites....well I paid Ԛ£16'500 for my 840Ci from a BMW agent as a five year old car. Lots of folk pay that for a new Ford Focus and you wouldn't call them flash - or would you?
Likewise the Sport Evo I had cost Ԛ£12'000. Or the price of some new Holden sh*theap. Again, not an incredibly expensive car in the real world. So I've had two not incredibly expensive used cars. So what?

As for saying you wouldn't swap your $2000 323i for either says more about you I'm afraid. Just deal with it.

Would have been nice if you bothered to quote that whole point, I said "not much quicker in a straight line (in a way that will matter to me anyway)". What matters to me is on the track and on the tracks here that performance difference will matter very little. Also my 323i is not standard. The point I was trying to make was that there are different cars for different people (the 8 series would be a great GT), don't discriminate against them becuase they currently have a particular car.
As for insecurites....well I paid Ԛ£16'500 for my 840Ci from a BMW agent as a five year old car. Lots of folk pay that for a new Ford Focus and you wouldn't call them flash - or would you?

Money has nothing to with being insecure, I'm not sure why you brought that up.
So I've had two not incredibly expensive used cars. So what?
Exactly my point! You are the one that had to bring them into this conversation when they are really unrelated to the topic just to compare them to someone elses car in a way that it seemed was intended to make their car (and even them) seem inferior.
As for saying you wouldn't swap your $2000 323i for either says more about you I'm afraid. Just deal with it.
It says I am happy with my current car and I know what I want from my future purchases. You say I wouldn't swap for either, I never said that. If you are talking about the E30 M3 Sport Evo then I would seriously consider it, please PM me the details.

Sorry it has gone this far, I just dislike it when people put down other people and there cars because they think they have something better. It seemed to happen in a kind of "your not good enough to be in this conversation" way and that isn't right. This will be my last post in this thread, feel free to say whatever you like.

Nothing to do with insecurity at all mate. If I was insecure, would I have admitted to owning a Ford Ka? Hardly!
It's just when that guy just waded in and called me a twat for defending a cheapo economy car, I felt duty bound to shut him down by listing some of the serious cars I have owned. He hasn't returned to clarify his position - maybe he was referring to the original guy who posted here but I doubt it. He doesn't even know me for God's sake.

Like you, I don't like those who put down others because of the car they drive - like our Ka slagging colleagues here.

The moral here - don't slag anything off unless you've actually got something worth owning yourself.

My last word on this. Goodnight!

How can you define better? there are many things a ford Ka can do better than an E30. consume fuel economically, hold its value, appeal to a mass market.
If its such an awesome car then why did BMW make the decision to stop production any idea?

My last word on this. Goodnight!
Sorry dont agree with you. If someone paints their car lime green with pink pokadots then i think veryone is entilted to their own opinion regardles of what they may own. That may include slagging but its a free country or was last time I looked.

There are probably a lot of people out there who dont think an E30 is worth owning, are you saying that us E30 owners should not have an opinion. I agree we perhaps shouldnt slag off other peoples cars but we should be able to express an opinion.

and like others have said someone please lock this thread its going nowhere
